Youth Art Classes: Oct 13 - Nov 3

Service Description

This youth art class introduces foundational art skills in a small, encouraging studio setting. Students will learn how artists use observation, reference images, and step-by-step processes to build drawings and artworks with greater confidence. Along the way, they will explore shape, proportion, contour, line, form, value, texture, space, and colour through a mix of guided instruction, creative challenges, and hands-on studio practice. Each week builds on the skills introduced in previous classes, giving students repeated opportunities to practice, apply, and strengthen what they are learning. The class balances structured instruction with experimentation, playful challenges, and opportunities for personal choice, helping students develop real art skills without making the experience feel like another school class. Students will also begin developing sketchbook habits, materials awareness, and creative problem-solving skills. No previous art experience is required. Classes continue through December 15, with registration offered in short blocks throughout the fall. Current students will receive priority registration for the following block before remaining spaces are opened to the public. Tuesdays, 5:00-6:15 pm Materials included
