Refund & Cancellation Policy

A legal disclaimer

Effective Date: March 29, 2026

At Creative Practice, we plan our classes and workshops carefully so that materials, staffing, and class sizes can be prepared in advance. Our policies are intended to be clear, fair, and respectful of both participants and instructors.

Cancellations by participants

If you cancel at least 7 days before the start of a one-time workshop, event, or multi-week course, you may receive a refund or studio credit, less any non-recoverable transaction fees, if applicable.

If you cancel fewer than 7 days before the start date, your registration is non-refundable. However, if your spot can be filled from a waitlist or by another registrant, Creative Practice may offer a refund or studio credit, less any non-recoverable transaction fees, if applicable.

Transfers

If you cannot attend a one-time workshop or event, you may request to transfer your registration to another person. Transfers must be arranged with Creative Practice in advance and are subject to program suitability and eligibility.

Missed classes in multi-week courses

Missed classes in multi-week courses are non-refundable and cannot be made up, credited, or transferred to another date or course, except at the discretion of Creative Practice in extraordinary circumstances.

Instructor illness or studio cancellation

If Creative Practice cancels a class, course, workshop, or event due to instructor illness, low enrollment, weather, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances, participants will be offered one of the following, as determined by Creative Practice:

  • a make-up date,

  • a studio credit, or

  • a full or partial refund, as appropriate.

Online bookings and consumer rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law, including Ontario rules that may apply to internet agreements entered into online.

Refund Policy - the basics

Having said that, a Refund Policy is a legally binding document that is meant to establish the legal relations between you and your customers regarding how and if you will provide them with a refund. Online businesses selling products are sometimes required (depending on local laws and regulations) to present their product return policy and refund policy. In some jurisdictions, this is needed in order to comply with consumer protection laws. It may also help you avoid legal claims from customers that are not satisfied with the products they purchased.

What to include in the Refund Policy

Generally speaking, a Refund Policy often addresses these types of issues: the timeframe for asking for a refund; will the refund be full or partial; under which conditions will the customer receive a refund; and much, much more.
