Nature’s Treasures: Mixed Media Workshop
Slow down, look closely, and explore natural treasures through drawing, colour, and mixed media.
Service Description
The earth offers many beautiful, tangible treasures for those who take the time to look: leaves, seed pods, stones, shells, bark, feathers, flowers, twigs, lichen, acorns, and other small natural finds. In this full-day workshop, artist and educator Sharlena Woods will guide participants through the process of arranging, observing, drawing, and painting a selection of natural objects on the pages of a simple accordion-style art book. Participants are invited to bring a small collection of cherished natural finds. These objects may be connected to a place, a memory, a walk, a season, or simply something you noticed and wanted to keep. Through mixed media materials, including watercolour and drawing tools, you will explore shape, detail, colour, texture, and personal meaning while creating a small book that records your own relationship with nature’s treasures. This workshop is not about perfect realism. It is about slowing down, looking closely, and allowing small natural objects to become a starting point for creative expression and personal storytelling. All materials are included. All levels of experience are welcome.
